Introducción
El gran desafío del futuro a medio
plazo que se plantea a nivel global, va a ser sin duda la creación del
sistema más complejo y extenso jamás creado por el hombre. Actualmente se le conoce
como la ‘internet de las cosas’, pero es de suponer que su denominación puede
cambiar en la medida en la que este sistema cambie adaptándose a futuras
necesidades.
En un artículo publicado en la página
web ‘RFID Journal’ en el año 2009 titulado ‘That ‘Internet of Things’ Thing
(http://www.rfidjournal.com/articles/view?4986), Kevin Ashton hace referencia a una
presentación que hizo en el año 1999 en Procter & Gamble en la que utilizó
la famosa frase, para referirse a esta nueva estructura en la que todo tiene cabida.
Sea como fuere, la posibilidad de
interconectar máquinas que puedan resolver muchos de los problemas a los que
nos enfrentamos todos los días abre un futuro prometedor en todos los aspectos.
Pero ¿cuál es la situación actual del internet de las cosas? La conexión de cualquier objeto a la Idlc implica la utilización de protocolos adecuados entre la Idls y el objeto en cuestión.
